Numerical method for analyzing steady-state oscillation in trumpets

Interactions between the airflow, elastic body of lips, and acoustic resonator instrument cause self-sustained oscillation lips when generating sound using brass instruments, steady-state can be expected to periodic. However, quasi-periodic or period doubling also occur, a cascade doublings may further introduce chaos. Therefore, given set dynamic equations representing behaviors instrument, method for detecting obtaining periodic solution by adopting shooting that relies on match initial terminal states after time corresponding has passed is presented in this paper. Experiments were performed trumpet model, where resonance frequency blowing pressure used as main control parameters. The minimum was estimated linear stability analysis. could capture changes very finely small perturbation successively applied parameters; however, it less effective load capacitive at frequency.
